Measuring your project
Finding Linear Measurements
Use linear measurements for estimating the trims, moldings.
Linear measurement is calculated by measuring the number of feet
along the space in which the molding or trim will go.
Example: 15’ x 12" = 180"
Finding Square Footage
Use it to calculate an area such as a wall or a ceiling.
Square footage is calculated by multiplying the length times the height or width of an area. (If there is a door of window opening measure it's square footage and subtract it from the total area).
Square footage- multiply the length times the height
Example: 20’ x 25’ = 500 square feet
